Questions About Offerings

Do you offer medication management?

No, we do not offer medication management services. If you are in need of psychiatric medication, we recommend reaching out to your primary care provider or a licensed psychiatric provider. Currently, in Virginia, only Medical Doctors (MDs), Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine (DOs), Nurse Practitioners (NPs), and some Physician Assistants (PAs) are able to prescribe psychiatric medications in Virginia. We collaborate with trusted community partners and are happy to offer referrals.

Do you offer psychological testing or evaluations?

No, we do not provide psychological testing or formal psychological evaluations. However, we work closely with professionals in the community who do, and we are glad to provide referrals to qualified providers.

Do you offer family or couples therapy?

No, we currently specialize in individual therapy for children, adolescents, and adults. However, your therapist may occasionally recommend involving a partner or family member(s) in a session when clinically appropriate - for example, to strengthen support systems, improve communication, or address relational dynamics. These sessions are always conducted with your consent and are designed to support your individual therapy process.

Do you offer parenting classes or Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT)?

No, we do not offer structured parenting classes or PCIT. We do, however, provide individual therapy for children, adolescents, and adults. When working with younger children, our therapists may involve parents in the therapeutic process to support progress and strengthen parent-child relationships - though the child remains the primary client.

Do you offer group therapy?

No, at this time, we do not offer group therapy. Our practice focuses on individual therapy across the lifespan, including services for children, teens, and adults.

Do you offer in person and telehealth therapy?

Yes! All of our providers offer both in-person and telehealth sessions. You’re welcome to choose the format that best fits your needs and comfort level.

Insurance Questions

Do you accept insurance?

Yes, we accept most major insurance plans and will submit your claims on your behalf. We are in-network with Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Sentara/Optima, Aetna, and Medcost. While we check your benefits as a courtesy, please note that you are responsible for any member cost share including deductible, co-insurance, or co-payments as determined by your plan. Payment is expected at time of service. We strongly recommend that you contact your insurance provider to verify your coverage, as we cannot guarantee the accuracy of our benefit check. Please note: Late cancellation and no-show fees are not covered by insurance and are solely your responsibility.

I have insurance that you accept. How much will therapy cost?

Your cost per session depends on your specific insurance plan. Some plans require that you meet your deductible before coinsurance applies, while others may offer a set copay. We will attempt to verify your benefits and provide an estimated cost before your first appointment. However, we advise that you also contact your insurance company directly to confirm your coverage, as our estimate may not be fully accurate.

I have primary and secondary insurance. Will you bill my secondary insurance as well?

No, we only bill your primary insurance provider. If you have secondary insurance, we can provide a superbill or documentation for you to submit on your own for reimbursement. Payment will still be due from you at the time of service.

Do you accept Medicaid?

Unfortunately, we are unable to see clients with Medicaid, even on an out-of-pocket basis.

Do you accept Medicare?

While we are able to see clients with Medicare on a self-pay basis, our providers have opted out of Medicare. Therefore, Medicare will not reimburse you for any out-of-network services.

I have questions that are not listed here. What should I do?
